FAIR TO HOST OHIO STATE ARMWRESTLING

CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY, AUGUST 2ND COMPETITION

OPEN TO EVERYONE

 

A colorful and competitive sport that affords anyone the opportunity to become an athlete makes its debut at the Medina County Fair.  People from all walks of life - both men and women will compete.  Events feature standardized weight classes, streamlined equipment and National Rankings for all competitors who win a match. The ARMWRESTLING USA/OHIO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held in the pavilion on Saturday, August 2nd. This special amateur competition will give free entry fee to all participants and challenges strength, athletic ability and personal desire to prevail.

 

The event is a series of Grand Prix competitions that are held by ARMWRESLING USA across the United States. Fairgoers are the participants in a unique competition that provides the opportunity for all lovers of sports to become a weekend athlete

 

All competitors that reach the quarter-finals of regional events in their weight classes will earn special seeding into the Grand Finale at the Arizona State Fair in October - the winners will officially represent their area.  There will be competition in 7 divisions - 5 men’s and 2 women’s.

 

Men’s Classes:

·        Featherweight (under 144),

·        Lightweight (145 -169),

·        Middleweight (170 - 193),

·        Light Heavyweight (194 - 219)

·        Heavyweight (220 & Above).

Women’s Classes

·        Lightweight (144 & under)

·        Open division (Above 145).

 

Five pound weight allowance for clothes.

 

THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL CHILDREN’S EVENT FEATURING AGE AND WEIGHT

ADJUSTMENTS FOR FUN PRIZES

 

Contestants may register from 11:00 – 1:30 – Special Clinics will begin at 1:00 – Feed-in competition will start after the clinics - The Grand Finale will be held at 4:00 PM.
